Woody's Longboard Diner - Shoreham (ish)

Woodies is a place I've been going to now for several years, after my parents took me there for a treat after shopping in town, and I in turn introduced the Mister and several friends to it's joy!

Everything is perfect, from the tables, to the bar, and the jukebox in the corner. You don't get all that many good authentic 50's Diner's around this neck of the woods, and of those that do exist, this has got to be right up there.

The Breakfast's are delicious, but we opted to go for dinner instead after a day out and about yesterday. I warn you now, the portions are HUGE, so I can never go for a starter too, but they do sound very tempting. You can check out their full menu on the website, so much to choose from!

I think the only thing that's missing is a great big parking lot out the front where all the hot rodders can come and park up! Alas....

I chose the chicken burger and added blue cheese....I love cheese... But even for me there was a little too much of the blue stuff, next time I think I'll just go for the normal cheese!

I really would recommend you pay a visit to Woodies, it's great for families and has a kids area, and an adults only area too, which is fab for when you just fancy a quiet evening for 2! heh. I just love the jukebox, and they serve proper milkshakes too, can't wait to have one soon :)

Have you ever been to Woodies, or know of any good one's nearby? There's also JB's in Brighton which I LOVE, and will be visiting again very soon!

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend?

Much Love from Brighton

Bluebell Baby

I'm guessing many people will be writting up about today's big Royal Do', so after glueing myself to the screen, decided to make the most of it and see the bluebell forests for the first time.

Arlington has a wonderful Bluebell walk & Farm trail, and the proceeds go to local charities and fund raising efforts.

Stupidly, I left the memory card for the camera at home today, so had to play around with my phone camera instead. The views were incredible, and I can't wait to go back again very soon, trusty memory card in camera this time!

We went and gave the piggies some tummy scratching love, and the sheep too! Then headed off into the woods. It was the Mister's idea as he'd been there when he was a kid and has always loved it, and so do I! I really recommend it.It's so relaxing and all you can see around, through the trees, is a carpet of blue.

So, did anyone watch the wedding today? Or where you not interested? I sort of felt a bit like I HAD to watch it or I'd really regret it afterwards...know what I mean? But I did kinda enjoy it ; ) heh. And yes, she looked truely beautiful in that dress! Well done Kate, and good luck!

On another note, I picked up these trousers from Primark yesterday, and I'm rather impressed! I haven't actually been up the high street in months, and was surprised to find these hanging in a corner. I think I might invest in a second pair, knowing from experience that primark doesn't last terribly long! Find anything good on the highstreet recently?

Much love from Brighton,

Wheels Day - 2011

Thanks to a tip off from the Mister's Mechanic, we spent today basking in the sunshine at Wheels Day in Aldershot. A bit of a drive, but that's never a problem with Tilly!

We brought along two very good friends of ours, Alex and Gen, taking their car show virginity! The Beagles joined in th fun too, so Tilly really was going to have to prove she'd be up for next years euro road trip.

I'm going to have to keep the posts for the next 2 weeks rather brief  unfortunately, as I've fallen victim to dreaded RSI. My right hand is curently bandaged all the way to my elbow, I've been given painkillers that don't seem to be working, and I've been banned from sewing and typing (alright, a little is allowed!) and realising that trying to rest my arm for 2 weeks is seemingly imposible after just day 2!! However, I will not let it stop me and I thoroughly enjoyed the show today!

On to the show. 1000 cas were expected, along with a load of stalls and even an autojumble! Enough to make everyone happy! There were performers and bands all day, so I would recommend it to anyone who fancies a great day out next year! I'll let you know a bit further in advance about the next ones, would anyone like to go to one too? Anyone know of any classic car shows in your area? Always wanting to know of more : )

It gets a bit picture heavy here, but as my hand is aching already, I think I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Alex found a rather large spanner!

Started off the day exploring the stalls, then made our way around the cars, bikes, and anything in between! It was a little overwhelming and I didnt know where to look at first.

can you spot where the car inside the car is?

Also came across some stock cars...I think it's time to get back down to Arlington for a spot of Banger Racing...yes please!

Came across an interior furninshing place too, but just look at this chair!! Gen and I couldn't resist striking some poses on them, want one please!

This was the first time we have actually been able to park INSIDE the show, as we finally classify to enter and show our first classic, the lovely Tilly Triumph.

Did anyone else go along and get any good pictures?

PS - the weather has been AMAZING the last few days! Bring on the rest of the Weekend!

Much Love from Brighton,

Thrifting on a sunny afternoon

Nice Bike!

We've got the beagles again this weekend, so I thought it'd be a good idea to walk them through the Laines, via Upper Gardener Street Market of course! Managed to pick up a few treats for the pricely sum of £3 each :) happy days!

Also spotted a few gems around town that I am praying will be there next week as my wallet doesnt quite stretch that far until AFTER payday...don't you hate it when that happens! Am not letting the cat out of the bag as those pretty things will be mine, hopefully.

So here's what I ended up with. The stall holder told me they were bought in bulk from Italy, so it was a big old mish mash of stuff, ranging from a load of deadstock topshop men's bits, to some quite striking (nicest way I could think of!) 70s shirts with huuuuuge collars. But I'm in desperate need of new cardis and casual tops for dog walking and just mooching about in.

I love the little cherries on this one:

Unfortunaetly I think I will need to loosen the sleeves on this one...don't you hate it when it all fits, but the arms are just a tad too tight? I fear my arms may turn blue from loss of blood otherwise.

My favourite was a little purple cardi with the cutest little buttons. I need a replacement to my white one as it needs a bit of tlc.

As the weather was so nice, and the seagulls had been kind enough to grace Tilly with their excrement, we pootled down to Black Rock on the seafront to give her a bit of a clean. The Mister couldn't resist adding some more stickers at the same time, so the beagles and I had a little snooze and a read, followed by some impromptu photos of me 'driving' the car. One day I will get my licence...Thank you to the Mister for taking such nice shots tonight :)

Oh and the hat was also a find at the market today. Love it. Probably because its German too :) now I just need to find a dirndl! hehe.

Off to investigate some hauntings around Brighton on Monday, wish me luck!

Much love from sunny Brighton,

I am so cruel to those two dogs, but how could I not? Poor things!
